A

Abandon — Respondent exited without a recognized redirect outcome. High abandon rates throttle traffic and may pause a project. ACTIVITY — Research Defender check that tracks a respondent’s survey-taking rate across the market research ecosystem. Auto-accept — System automatically accepts unprocessed completes after the reconciliation deadline, making them billable.

B

BCPI (Buy Price) — Cost per interview Research Desk charges you for supplier traffic on a source. Adjustable during fieldwork. Buy Sample — UI label for creating an Internal Source that purchases sample from Rep Data’s integrated supplier network.

C

Calculation Type — How quota progress is measured on a source: Completes, Survey Starts, or Hybrid. Client CPI (Sell Price) — Price you charge your end client per complete, entered on the survey. COMPLETE API — Server-side respondent validation option for accounts with enhanced redirect security.

D

E

Entry link — Survey URL with [%RDUD%] that Research Desk uses to send respondents into your survey platform.

H

Hashing (redirect) — SHA-256 or SHA-512 validation on return redirects using secret key (sk) and hash parameter (hk). Hybrid — Calculation type combining completes and survey starts for quota measurement.

I

Internal Source — Self-serve sample purchase via Buy Sample from Rep Data’s supplier network. IR (Incidence Rate) — Percentage of entrants expected to qualify for and complete the survey.

L

Misaligned LOI affects CPI and traffic. L2 Voter Verified — Qualification targeting respondents pre-matched against L2’s voter database.

M

Manual Source — Source type (Add Supplier) for routing traffic from your own supplier contracts through Research Desk. MAIN stream — General population traffic stream without sub-quota targeting.

O

ORDUD — Original RDUD from a prior study, passed when recontacting respondents. OQ (Over-quota) — Respondent attempted entry after a quota cell was full. inbound_code=4000 on redirect. Out-of-field (OOF) — Project end date and time; used by traffic controls for pacing.

P

PacingTraffic control that spreads sample delivery across the field window. PII — Personally identifiable information captured in the survey (email, phone, etc.).

Q

QUOTA stream — Stream with demographic or behavioral targeting for a quota cell. Quota cell — Intersection of qualifications a respondent must match to count toward a quota target.

R

RDUD — Research Desk respondent identifier. Required in entry links ([%RDUD%]) and return redirects as of October 2024. REVIEW — Research Defender pre-survey open-end quality check. Reconciliation — Process of accepting or rejecting completes before billing. See Reconciliation guide.

S

SEARCH — Research Defender digital fingerprinting and fraud detection check. Security — Respondent outcome for quality/fraud termination. inbound_code=3000 on redirect. Sell Price — See Client CPI. Soft launch — Initial fielding at ~10% of target to validate redirects, IR, and quality before full launch. SQ (Screenout) — In-survey quality termination. SUBQUOTA stream — Nested quota cell within a broader segment.

T

Terminate — Respondent disqualified from the survey. inbound_code=2000 on redirect. Traffic report — Export of respondent-level outcomes including RDUD, status, supplier, and timestamps.

U

Unregistered complete — Complete that did not redirect properly (dropout or test link complete). Can be accepted during reconciliation. Unprocessed — Complete eligible for reconciliation but not yet accepted or rejected.
